Can a third person stay?

Yes, for $15 a day; the room sleeps up to three.

What do we share with other guests?

Your room is yours, behind its own door code. The kitchen, the dining room, the living rooms, the laundry and the yard are shared with the guests in the other rooms, and Marty keeps them spotless.

We are a bigger group. Can we book more than one room?

Yes: book two or three rooms side by side, or take The House on Frink and have all 5,000 square feet to yourselves, for up to 14 guests.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is by 10 am. Every room has its own door code, and the front door has an electronic lock too.

Yes, parking is free and easy at the house. The 805, the 163, the 5 and the 15 are all a few minutes away.

Is breakfast included?

A daily grab-and-go breakfast is set out in the kitchen, along with coffee, tea, fresh fruit and snacks through the day.

Yes, the house is pet friendly, with a daily pet fee of $10 to $15 depending on the size and type of pet; tell Marty when you book, as undisclosed pets are $100 a day. The back yard is artificial turf, so dogs go for a walk instead: there is a park about five minutes’ drive away.

Can we borrow beach gear?

Yes. Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards and snorkel gear are free to borrow; ask Marty and she will set you up.

What are the house rules?

No smoking, no parties or events unless the whole house is rented for one by written arrangement, and no visitors beyond the guests on the booking. San Diego water and energy limits mean the dishwasher and washing machine run before 3 pm or after 9 pm. There are cameras on the outside of the house in public areas, none in the back yard.

Peacefully quiet, with a door to the outside

The quiet one: a brand-new queen bed, mattress and linens under a bright paisley spread, a room that can be made very dark for a peaceful night’s sleep, and a 50-inch smart TV for catching up on Netflix or HBO from bed. A sliding door opens onto your own mini patio, so you can step out with your coffee, or your dog, without walking through the house.

Breakfast is on the counter

A grab-and-go breakfast is out every morning, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and tea, and snacks and water appear through the day. Ask Marty for the beach chairs, towels and boogie boards in the garage; they are free to borrow.

From the guest book

I brought my dog to San Diego so it was important to find a place that was dog friendly. I stayed in one of the rooms that has a little patio and an entrance to outside. This was very convenient when I needed to take my dog to the bathroom and didn’t want to walk through the house. I also enjoyed relaxing in Marty’s backyard, it was very peaceful.
