That is how Bria put it in October. A grab-and-go breakfast is out on the marbled counter every morning, with fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and tea, and snacks appear through the day. “Her coffee was so good,” Zoe wrote. “Better than your Starbucks.”
Marty was the most accommodating host I’ve ever had at an Airbnb. She made my mother feel at home… her house, the aesthetic of it, decorations, bedroom, snacks, their backyard was phenomenal, everything was beyond my expectations.

From ten years of guests
Before you go
Put your pin in the map
Guests leave a pin in the map where they came from, and after ten years it is crowded. They keep naming it as the part they remember: “the pin your place on the map was a very fun activity,” Hagyeong wrote. Bring your hometown.

Frink Street Guest House
Where we are
Between La Jolla and Pacific Beach
In a quiet San Diego neighbourhood, walking distance to shops, a movie theatre and plenty to eat, and close to every freeway. Downtown’s Gaslamp is 12 minutes, the airport 15, Pacific Beach 14, SeaWorld 15, La Jolla UTC 8 and Legoland 25.
Check-in, breakfast, pets, parking and the house rules.
Booking
The four rooms are private bedrooms in the guest house, each with its own door code, sharing the kitchen, the living rooms and the yard with the other guests. The House on Frink is the whole 5,000 square foot house for your group alone, for up to 14 guests.
The Navy Room has an en suite bathroom and The Jacuzzi Suite has an en suite with a jetted tub. Ask Marty about the others when you book.
Arriving
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is by 10 am. Every room has its own door code, and the front door has an electronic lock too.
Yes, parking is free and easy at the house. The 805, the 163, the 5 and the 15 are all a few minutes away.
The house
A daily grab-and-go breakfast is set out in the kitchen, along with coffee, tea, fresh fruit and snacks through the day.
Yes, the house is pet friendly, with a daily pet fee of $10 to $15 depending on the size and type of pet; tell Marty when you book, as undisclosed pets are $100 a day. The back yard is artificial turf, so dogs go for a walk instead: there is a park about five minutes’ drive away.
Yes. Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards and snorkel gear are free to borrow; ask Marty and she will set you up.
House rules
No smoking, no parties or events unless the whole house is rented for one by written arrangement, and no visitors beyond the guests on the booking. San Diego water and energy limits mean the dishwasher and washing machine run before 3 pm or after 9 pm. There are cameras on the outside of the house in public areas, none in the back yard.
